Hanukkah Thanksgiving 2013

A few more latkes with your turkey?

What did you say? Hanukkah falls on Thanksgiving in 2013! How am I going to roast a turkey, bake pumpkin pies, and fry latkes at the same time? Shall I deep fry the turkey or stuff it with brisket?

This year and for the first time since Thanksgiving is celebrated (**) , the first day of Hanukkah will coincide with Turkey Day. It is a unique double holiday and will not happen again for over 70000 years!

Thanksgiving and Hanukkah share many of the same values: dedication, peace between nations, gratitude, and family. Let’s celebrate the values of this double holiday by raising funds for the International Rescue Committee , a global non-profit organization founded in 1933 at the suggestion of Albert Einstein. Get your commemorative T-Shirt here ! All profits are directly donated to the IRC!

"The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people survive, recover and rebuild their lives."
